Solving the mysteries of the Creation or the end of the world

I was watching the Today show when suddenly I was struck by this eternal question : is it so difficult for the Americans to accept that sometimes the Europeans can actually make a major breakthrough in science and technology ? Yet it happened today, this morning more precisely, when European scientists from the Cern (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) started their "Bing Bang" experiment, thus recreating the very first moments of our universe. When you think about it, you have to be impressed by this achievement. Reenacting the Big Bang and solving the mystery of the creation is no small thing. But for the anchors of the Today Show it was the end of the world, because some German scientist said that we could all end up swallowed upin a giant black hole due to this experiment. Guess what ! Nothing happened, and the world is going just fine (or at least not worse than before the test started).
